Here are some events coming up next month in Chamonix;
Climbing World Cup 2017 will be stopping off in Chamonix, lets hope we get nice dry weather for the spectators! The difficulty and speed competitions will be held from the 11th-13th July at Place du Mont Blanc in Chamonix centre. This is not to be missed, a rare live spectacle of the world’s best climbers.
The 8th edition of the superb CosmoJazz festival will be taking over Chamonix from the 22nd until the 30th July. The live music concerts will be entirely free and dotted around many locations in the Chamonix and Trient Valley including the Emosson Dam and Le Brevent. There will again be some great live music events in the Park Couttet in the evenings.
This summer is already shaping up to be a hot and dry one, so what better way to spend your time than with a barbecue outside. On the 2nd July, Hotel Les Lanchers in Les Praz will be hosting an outdoor BBQ with live music for 19€ pp. If you’re staying in Cham, Bighorn Bistro will have a BBQ every Sunday from 16:00-23:00. And on Saturdays, you can head over to Chambre Neuf for their BBQ from 12:00-16:00. Bon App’ BBQ’s will be hosting their delicious BBQ’s with homemade burgers, veggie options and chutneys at the Vagabond in July. Keep an eye out on their Facebook page for date information.
Mountain guides, professional athletes and mountain enthusiasts will join together for the Arc’teryx Alpine Academy. From the 30th June until the 2nd July, the 6th edition of the Academy will be presenting some great courses. Unfortunately, all the clinics are sold out, but you can still register for their seminars, the Academy dinner and come along for free the outdoor movie night at Place Balmat on the 1st July at 21:00.
Should the rain arrive, the Cinema Vox is a perfect solution for a wet afternoon! The cinema, located in the centre of Chamonix will have the latest films in both French and English.
