Chamonix is not the most high-tech town in the world but there are a few useful sites to visit and the Chamonix App is great!
In the last few years, like with many places, the Chamonix online community has boomed. Today we have running clubs, jobs info, mums n tots clubs, mailing lists and Facebook groups with over 15 000 members. As you may already know, moving to a new community can be challenging and that’s why we are writing a list of useful Chamonix links for you.
Here are the main ones we recommend to use.
Chamonix Facebook group – This is the largest Facebook group in Chamonix. You can buy and sell goods and services, look for accommodation and jobs, find buddies to do cool things with or simply ask about the daily snow conditions.
Nordic skibums: Chamonix – The Scandinavian ski bum community in Chamonix are the majority demographic of this Facebook group. It is mostly used to organise parties and to ask friends about lost wallets/items from said parties! Everyone is welcome to participate, whether you’re Scandivanian or not, join in with this friendly bunch if you want.
Chamonix Alpine Endurance – “CAE” is an endurance sport club for skiing, running, swimming, biking etc. Every level is welcome as long as you respect the mountain and it’s environment.
Buy and Sell – If you are looking for some clothes, gear or simply want to get rid of your own clutter, this page is great to sell, buy or give away what’s no longer wanted or needed. You can find some great treasures here!
Ski touring – A place to meet, share and chat about all things ski touring.

ChamSocial – An email sharing service. This is the biggest online mailing community in Chamonix with over 10 000 users. On here you can find EVERYTHING! Sign up to their mailing list and you can get daily updates, news and more.
Chamonix Meteo – Weather forecast for Chamonix. This is where most of the locals get their information from, available in French and English.
Meteo France – Another good website for weather forecast in the mountains. We recommend you to check at least two services and compare them for a better result. If you are looking for more detailed information about the snow conditions, have a look at this link. Information is power!
Compagnie du Mont Blanc – Check the lift status or book a lift.
