Summer in Chamonix is heating up and the weather is perfect for mountain biking, hiking, climbing etc. Here are some events for the rest of this month that are definitely worth checking out!
Friday 21st June will be the annual celebration of Fête de la Musique. Its purpose, since its inception in 1982 in Paris, is to promote the making of music and bring it out of the concert halls and into the streets. The festival encourages both professional and amateur musicians to perform, giving people free access to all types of music. Expect the Chamonix valley to be echoing with the sweet sound of music all day and night!
Marathon du Mont Blanc is coming to town with 10,500 runners participating in 8 races – 90km, 42km, 23km, 10km, KM Vertical, Starry Duet, Young Race Marathon and Mini Cross of Mont Blanc. Come and show your support, starting on Thursday 27th until the 30th June. Check out www. marathonmontblanc.fr
Cham’in the Air is an open weekend paragliding festival on Saturday and Sunday the 22nd-23rd June. There is plenty of fun stuff for the whole family including live music, demos, BBQ, film screenings and a chance to get discounted tandem flights. The festival will take place from 9am to 11:30pm at Bois du Bouchet.
The Chamonix Market is every Saturday (from 8h00 until around 13h00) at Place du Mont Blanc.
