Now in its 39th year, the Marathon du Mont Blanc is once again returning to Chamonix. The Marathon started out as a challenging, single day 23km race. Today, the marathon has expanded into a 3 day event with a variety of 8 races: Mont-Blanc 80km, 23km,10km, the Vertical km, Mini-Cross and introducing two new races this year: Starry Night Duo, a nocturnal 17km race, and Young Race Marathon, a 15km race for runners aged 15-18 years old.
This iconic racing event takes place on the weekend of the 22-25th June. Chamonix will welcome 4,500 runners from over 75 countries, with 500 volunteers helping organise events and runners cheered on by over 25,000 supporters!
You can find more details about the races at the Marathon du Mont-Blanc website. If you are planning on coming to follow the races, there are some excellent suggestions here for places in Chamonix where you can have a bite to eat, enjoy the mountain scenery and show your support to all the runners.
Good luck to everyone taking part and we look forward to seeing you there!
