Here at Insted we are enjoying our first week with our summer Overland students and leaders! The students brave the heat and had great days out and about in Chamonix.
On Monday the students, with their leaders, met our teacher’s Karine and Emlilie at the school. Each student then had a brief chat with the teachers to determine their current level of French and then began on their journey of discovery of the French language. The beginner and intermediate groups are both off to a great start!
On Wednesday, the group started the day off with a French class in the morning, then travelled down by train to visit the farm of Saint-bernard in Servoz and finished the afternoon with a hike to the Gorges de la Diosaz.
During the week, the group mixed time in the classroom and engaged in some easier hikes to the Chalet de la Floria, Cremerie du Glacier, Le Chapeau and Pierre à Bosson. Their time in the outdoors prepared the students for a weekend of camping at the Point de Vue in Argentière, and in the daytime tackled some more challenging hikes around the Argentière glacier. The camping was a fantastic experience for the Overland students, as some of the them had camped out before!
Here are some photos from the groups trip at the Saint-bernard farm:
Thanks to Trevor and Emma for the photos!
