Luckily, our brave Overland students have had very sunny and warm weather during the daytime so the hikes to the Lac Vert, Chalet de Cerro and the Tete du Grand Chantet were glorious.
On Monday afternoon, Karine took both groups up to the Animal Park at Merlet. They started off with a picnic at Les Gaillands and hiked up all the way to Merlet Park. And they saw all the animals who were not hiding inside due to the extreme heat.
All the students had their French classes. During one of the classes this week, the students got to watch the movie ‘Malabar Princess’ set right here in Chamonix! The Malabar Princess is based on a true story when an Indian plane crashed into the Les Bossons Glacier in the 1950’s.
One of the days, they all went with their teachers to a local market to buy ingredients for their cooking class at the Gite and learnt to make traditional French crêpes.
To top things off the students went for a day trip on Wednesday to Lac Annecy with their teachers, were they participated in a scavengers hunt!
After yesterday showers the sun is set to return and we are in for a warm end to the week.
