Chamonix is not the most high tech town in the world but there is a few useful sites.
During the last couple of years, the Chamonix online communities has been booming. Today we have running clubs, mailing lists and Facebook groups with over 15 000 members. As you might already know, communities comes and goes and that’s why we are writing a list of Chamonix links for you.
Here is a the major ones that we recommend to use.
Chamonix Facebook group – This is the largest Facebook group in Chamonix. You can buy, sell, look for accommodation or simply ask about the snow conditions.
Nordic skibums: Chamonix – The Scandinavian ski bum community in Chamonix are using this Facebook group. It is mostly used to organise parties and to ask friends about lost wallets. Everyone is welcome to participate, join this friendly bunch if you want.
Chamonix Alpine Endurance – “CAE” is an endurance sport club for skiing, running, swimming, biking etc. etc. Every level is welcome as long as you respect the mountain and it’s environment. You can start to tag along to the “Wakey Wakey run” every Monday 06:30.
Buy and Sell – If you are looking for some rubbish or simply want to get ride of the bicycle that’s been stating on your balcony for 2 years, this is a great group.
Ski touring – A place to meet, share and chat about all things ski touring.
SevenTwenty production – They are doing a snow forecast for Chamonix, first guys up the lift.

ChamSocial – This is the biggest online community in Chamonix with over 10 000 users. On here you can find EVERYTHING! Today the website looks awful but it will get a makeover in March.
Chamonix Meteo – Weather forecast for Chamonix. This is where most of the locals get their information from.
Meteo France – Another good website for weather forecast in the mountains. We recommend you to check at least two services and compare them for a better result. If you are looking for more detailed information about the snow conditions, have a look at this link.
